Material Test, FAT and SAT for Industrial Centrifuges

Material testing, factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing are connected but cannot substitute for one another. Define the evidence boundary of each stage before purchase.

Use a material test to evaluate separation behaviour, FAT to verify the agreed factory mechanical, control, safety and document scope, and SAT to verify site installation, utilities and contracted project performance. For every stage, freeze the input condition, protocol, instruments, witnesses, raw records, acceptance criteria, deviation process and remedy before testing starts.

How should a material sample be controlled?

Record sample source, date, process condition, composition, storage, conditioning and representativeness. Separate normal material from known difficult cases and record any blend.

The report should retain raw observations, rejected runs, settings and scale-up limitations rather than only a preferred headline result.

What belongs in an FAT protocol?

  • Approved drawings, data sheet, deviation list and inspection plan

How should deviations and remedies work?

Every deviation should identify the requirement, actual condition, technical effect, schedule or cost effect, proposed disposition, owner and approval. Silence or shipment is not acceptance.

The contract should state whether the remedy is correction, retest, approved concession, replacement, commercial adjustment or another agreed action.

Can FAT prove cake moisture?

Only if a representative contracted process test, feed, method and acceptance basis are explicitly included; a no-load run cannot.

Who should witness FAT?

The contract should name buyer, source and any qualified third-party witness roles and hold points.

What if the site feed differs from the RFQ?

Record the deviation and evaluate its effect before assigning pass or failure.

Should raw readings be retained?

Yes. Keep raw readings, sample identity, settings, observations, deviations and approvals with the final report.

Does a passed test prove certification?

No. Conformity evidence has its own source, scope, revision and validity review.
