Fastener names are not complete purchase specifications. International buyers should connect the drawing or governing standard with material, thread, mechanical properties, corrosion protection, inspection and lot traceability.

Why it matters
Similar-looking fasteners can differ in thread tolerance, steel grade, heat treatment, coating thickness, hydrogen-embrittlement risk, corrosion behaviour and traceability.
ISO, DIN, ASTM, EN, BS, SANS and project-specific documents are not interchangeable. The buyer’s engineer should identify the governing requirement and approved substitutions.
